The perfect location, perfect pool, great place for a month get away!

The refrigerator went out during our stay and they promptly installed a new one. We loved the pool and it was cleaned professionally every other day, which was great since it stormed most afternoons. We did have to drive to restaurants, stores and the beach, but the neighborhood was very nice. We had great privacy. Our family of 7 adults and 1 child were able to stay comfortably.The house does need a few repairs such as the sliding side door and an area on the stairs. Overall it was worth the price for the week. The Golden Isles company was fantastic, they met all of our needs and kept in close contact!

We previously stayed in this cottage 10 years ago and were anxious to enjoy it again. The furnishings are dated (same as 10 years ago) and the pool furniture is not the most comfortable but we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The rental was exactly that we expected from the information. The cottage was comfortable, clean, and in a great location. We walked to the village, the basketball court, and the beach.. Our favorite room in the house was the sun room. We would love to come back!

Harper’s Cottage was a perfect place for 6 adults to spend a week off unwinding on SSI. The management company was very receptive when we reached out regarding pool maintenance, and communicated with us as necessary. The upstairs room is beautiful, but tricky for adults (and suitcases) to navigate the spiral stairs. Other than a few items missing (toaster, extra frying pan) in the kitchen we made some great meals and even better memories.

Nice layout for a large group. The pool and screened porch were a hit after hanging out at the beach all day.

The house is lovely; has a cottage feel but very spacious. Two bedrooms down and 4 up. All jack-n-jill bathrooms, but each bedroom had its own sink. Very helpful with a large group. Good size, well stocked kitchen with adjacent dining room. The screened in back porch was a favorite! Next to the pool. Pool was clean and got plenty of sun. Could have used more beach loungers though. Short walk to the beach although the street signs aren’t very clear. Took us a couple times to figure it out. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!!

We have stayed at Tabby Quarters for several years now. Large house with good a/c. The pool is a plus. True beach house experience. We enjoy the location and the privacy.

As long as you're expecting an old-school beach house--sandy & modest, with a grab-bag of kitchen supplies (rather than a multimillion-dollar mansion with granite counters, like those springing up everywhere), you'll have a great time here. Perfect location!! Nice room lay-out: three BR/bathroom/twin BR combos, great for families. NO laundry facilities, which was a surprise with a beach house. Pool is unheated. But dogs are welcome.

Tabby Quarters was perfect for our beach vacation that includes grandparents, aunts, uncles, and grandchildren. We spent most of our time on the porch watching the kids swim. We all loved this home!

We stayed here with our wedding party the weekend of our wedding. It was perfect and offered enough space and flexibility for everyone. The pool and sunroom were where we spent most of our time. It's fairly close to everything and we enjoyed that we could get to anything we wanted in a short drive. The walk to downtown St simons was too far for us so we may have prefered something close to town.

This house is kitschy but cute. We enjoyed the large common area, spent a ton of time on the porch and by the pool and enjoyed the location of the house. We were certainly duped by the description of the house being 3/4 of a block to the beach access and 4 blocks to East Beach as we had never rented on the island. It was a solid 10 minute walk to the beach and totally understandable now that we are more familiar with the island, but we were unprepared. The house could use updates to the plumbing and to the locks on the doors. Overall it was a great experience.

We enjoyed our stay at Tabby Quarters. A perfect beach house for our family. Plenty of room for all of our family and lovely back porch. We enjoyed the pool after a day at the beach. The reviews about the locks is true, they are a little weird but we did not mind. We would definitely stay in this house again.

Older home, but plenty of space. Recommend fixing locks (many stick), and upgrading some old lighting, but close to the beach! Outside patio and pool are really nice to have along with a carport. Plenty of bedrooms for multiple people. Would definitely stay here again!

Location is great. House needs mechanical updating. Beds are not very comfortable. Not clean. We spent days cleaning.

This house was amazing. Very clean and well decorated. The pool was nice since the beach was only open for exercising only while we were there. Comfortable and great location. When we did go to the beach, it wasn't very far.

It was a lovely stay in a unique beach cottage

We were thankful for the opportunity to stay at the Thornton Cottage. It was perfect for us. What fun it was to sit on the swing on the side porch and watch the ocean, the full moon over the ocean at night, the people and activities on the beach. We experienced our first tropical storm safe inside the Thornton Cottage which had withstood many storms and hurricanes over the years. The cottage was homey, the furnishings were clean and comfortable. We took our walks on the beach, the nearby marsh, and the pier which were all within walking distance even for a pair of senior citizens.
We enjoyed lots of ice cream with our family. The Thornton cottage was perfect for us. The staff at Golden Isles Realty were helpful, courteous, and wonderful to deal with. We would certainly recommend this property to others.

I love this beach house. Not my first visit and I will book it again. Yes, I have shared with others about this wonderful gem from the past. If you want a taste of how life used to be, this is IT!!

I was unable to go due to a broken femur but my two sisters and brother went. They had only good comments and enjoyed their stay immensely. The beach access was the key. The only issue they had was that the first floor was open to anyone who wanted to look in and the close the curtains was a nightmare.

The cottage was perfect for our family vacation. Enjoyed the views and the convenience of being directly on the beach. I loved the fact the home has been used by generations for making memories. Great location from the Saint Simon’s Pier, Lighthouse and shopping.

I've stayed at this wonderful old beach cottage something like 10 times now over the past 20 years, and I absolutely adore it. There are very, very few houses like it left on St. Simons, and to stay in it for a week is to relive what it used to be like on the island. I'll continue to rent the Thornton Cottage as long as it's available, and I recommend it to other folks, too, who don't need the bells and whistles available in contemporary condominiums. ... Having said that, I have one very serious complaint: something *must be done* about the beds, especially the double bed in the beautiful main bedroom upstairs, and to a lesser extent with the twin beds in the bedroom downstairs. The upstairs bed is intolerable: the headboard is cracked and unattached to the bed frame itself and bangs loudly against the wall with any movement in the bed (and no, I'm not talking about, shall we say, *vigorous* movement with two people -- I'm talking about one person rolling over). Both the mattress pad and the sheets were virtually in tatters, and were so stretched out that they came off the corners of the bed essentially the instant you laid down in it. The mattress itself is sprung out and terribly uncomfortable as well, and I had to fetch pillows from the other bedroom upstairs because the ones on the bed itself were old and well past being useful. C'mon, guys! The rest of the house is fine (and the folks at Golden Isles responded to my request for some comfortable chairs for the upstairs deck), but put $1,000 or so of the $2,500 my friend and I paid you into a new bed, and either fix or get rid of the old headboard. Over all our rental experience was good.
The house need a few small changes such as putting a Queen Bed in the upstairs bedroom that goes out to the deck. (Hard for 2 adults to sleep on a full). The upstairs bathroom needs a shower rod/kirtan put up in the bathroom so more that 1 person can take a shower at the same time. The place was dusty with out of date kirtans, golf balls & plastic fork & spoon left on the floor from previous renters. Great location, walking distance to the village. We would recommend this house to friends. We will stay there again.

Such a fantastic location with an easy bike ride or walk to the Pier and other local spots. Right on the beach. We enjoyed sipping our happy hour cocktails on the deck. Otherwise, as the adage goes, “you get what you pay for.” The beds and pillows could use upgrading, the fridge door shelf kept getting detached, the bathroom was not insulated/cooled.

We had a fantastic vacation staying at the Rooney Cottage. It is in a great location and very comfortable.

Quick and easy. Have stayed for 2 years now and really enjoy the cottage. Get a golf cart and you are set. Plan on staying again.

Great as always.

We had a ball. Enjoyed my 2 year old grandson sitting on the front porch and watching the grass snakes play in the front yard. We will be booking again next summer hopefully.

The cottage was amazing. Larger than it appears in photos. Well stocked kitchen and baths. Perfect location. The only recommendations I have are to update the electrical outlets to accommodate 3 prong plugs so you can plug in electronics such as laptops in all rooms. The other would be to have some lighting on the front porch. However, I would rent it again regardless. Absolutely loved it.

We had a very relaxing stay in Rooney Cottage. It was well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, linens, beach chairs and bikes. The location is excellent with just a very short walk to the beach and many wonderful restaurants.

We found this cottage charming. It had everything we needed and was a GREAT location

The home is old but clean. The location to food, beach, and playgrounds is excellent and only at most a 15 minute walk
